Thomas’ multi-dimensional talent is truly making him a force to be reckoned with and he is creating quite a buzz among executives in all areas of the entertainment industry. An accomplished actor, singer and dancer, Thomas has spent the last four years making a splash around the United States as Shout in The Fresh Beat Band,Nickelodeon’s hit series and concertsfranchise. One young ‘reviewer’ characterized Thomas’ performance on the show and as “cool beans.” Originally targeting preschoolers, TheFresh Beat Band, found a much wider audience which has also brought Thomas national fame among adolescents and adults. The successful live action series has now spawned an animated version that will begin airing on Nickelodeon later in the year and the cast will be hitting the road again in the fall for a ten week national tour.
Thomas began his acting career at the age of six appearing in numerous feature films, television shows, stage productions and commercials. After graduating high school, Thomasattended Yale University where he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theatre. While at Yale, Thomas found himself busy working in both Yale University undergraduate and graduate theatre programs and singing with Shades, one of Yale’s most popular a capella groups. Thomas was a three-time recipient of Yale’s Excellence in Artistry Award voted on by both faculty and students.
Shortly after graduating from Yale, Thomas returned to Los Angeles and was cast as Young Patrick in the acclaimed production of North Beach. He was then invited to become a member of Blue Sphere Alliance, a highly regarded, critically acclaimed theatre company in Hollywood where he was immediately cast to portray Lysander in A Midsummer Night’s Dream for BSA’s Shakespeare in the Parking Lot. Thomas then starred as Pierre in the company’s revival of Madwoman of Chaillot set in ‘post Katrina’ New Orleans. Soon after, Thomas was cast as Mike the Spike in the Center Theatre Group’s workshop production of Ain’t No Mountain High Enough written by Motown founder Berry Gordy and directed by Kenny Leon. Thomas then starred in the critically acclaimed production of City Kid: The Musicalwhich received six NAACP Image Awards. He then portrayed C.C. White in San Diego Musical Theater’s production of Dreamgirls. Last fall, Thomas starred in Smokey Joe’s Café at the renowned Pasadena Playhouse.
Adult fans can see Thomas in the independent features Set Apartand Bar Starzas well as on recent episodes of NCIS and Criminal Minds. Thomas’ earlier film and television credits include leading roles in Clubhouse Detectives, Fox Family Channel’s Michael Jordan: An American Hero, and Disney’s Movie Surfers as well as recurring roles on Step-by-Step and A Different World.
Now embarking on a recording career, Thomas is the vocalist onMy Friends,one of the latest singles by Milkman, the acclaimed international live DJ Mixer. While on tour with Fresh Beat Band in 2013,Thomas was seen by hit-maker Andrea Monica Martin who asked him to come to New York to record several of her songs. Their collaboration resulted in Thomas first EP, Beyond the Beat, with tracks produced and composed by Ms. Martin as well as other New York based composers and music producers. Thomas’ goal in recording this EP was to create music that could be enjoyed by both kids, teenagers and adults.
